The castle and the peninsula
The castle of Duingt stands on the peninsula, at the most photographed spot on the lake. It is reached along the beach, on foot from the apartment.
The lake, the cycle path and the boats
From the apartment, the landing stage is 120 metres away: boats leave for Talloires and Annecy several times a day, June to September. The lake cycle path passes 180 metres away, and Le Bon Wagon and Vélonecy rent bikes 250 metres away.
The small lake, 200 metres away, has pedal boats and licence-free boats, plus launch points for paddleboards and kayaks. Two beaches are within walking distance: the shaded grass beach with its snack bar and sailing club, and the one leading to the peninsula. Buses link Duingt to Annecy (line Y51).
Parking in a medieval village
The lanes of the old village are too narrow to park at the door. You can stop long enough to unload, then leave the car in the free public car park, about five minutes' walk away. That is the price of an intact medieval village.
